Breaking the ice
Sometimes you just gotta get the ball rolling, even if it’s somewhat deflated.
I don’t know what’s happening, guys.
Do you? I don’t mean in the world at large, ’cause no one can really grasp the immense sTRUMPpidity and backwardness of that. Of course, plenty of people try while the internet is happy to provide them with a venue. I listen to their podcasts, watch their interviews, reels and TED Talks, hoping someone will help me make sense of it all, only to keep coming back to the same conclusion: they’re just as clueless as I am, but their better education makes them believe they’re not. Or, ironically, they are aware, but they, like me, fall into the trap of believing the next reel, podcast, blog post, course, retreat or a startup will make them see through the code without swallowing the red pill.
Except Osho.
He knows what’s up. He’s the real top 1%. The vast majority of us, though, are wandering around in the fog of our own self-deception, trying to unpack and decipher a reality we’re convinced we should understand and manage and find happines at the end of the delulu rainbow. But we kinda can’t, can we? There’s more colours now and they mean all sorts of things - depending who you ask or who protects their truth with more zest. It’s gotten rather complex, hasn’t it? Not to mention that it’s breaking at the seams and the OG Reality is oozing through.
“While I’m wiping off the dust and scrubbing off the rust”
I know there are people I can pay to help me with that. I’ve tried. Sort of. My former therapist would probably say I’d given up just before things really started to kick off, but I never quite understood what she was on about. In lieu of that, I believe I made the rational choice to stop paying for a service I felt wasn’t servicing. Possibly that was the red pill I was frightened to gulp down. Since Morpheus is busy with other potential prospects and I don’t have the dough to finance the search for the appropriate therapist, I doubled down on meditation and Qigong. By “doubled down”, I mean that I do it every day regardless. At least my body and my mind have a clearer understanding of how they should feel. We’re not there yet, but that’s merely a matter of time. Which does not exist, FYI , but that’s a separate rabbit worm hole.
What I was really getting at in the intro was something much simpler. When I returned from Sri Lanka at the beginning of April, I felt a strong urge to start blogging again. Six months later, I find myself surrounded by a compost mound of first drafts, edits and revisions, only to arrive at exactly the same conclusion every time I’m about to publish something: “This is just not it. I don’t wanna post this.” Not that THIS is it – God no! Half a year later, I’m dumbfounded to admit that I’m just a bit rusty at blogging. The last post I wrote was two or three years ago, so naturally I need a bit more oomph to get to something useful as well as break the ice with my audience. How am I doing so far?
Quite clearly waiting until I find it is precisely what’s keeping me from getting anything out there. While I’m wiping off the dust and scrubbing off the rust, I might as well post something that’s just good enough. Here, I’ll throw in some random pics I feel are worth showing, just to make things more visual for all you picturesque types. Get the freakin’ ball rolling. Ya know what I mean?
